One Week Until Summer, Friends!
The upcoming summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, a turning point where light peaks and everything begins to bloom more fully. In our home, this time is meaningful. Seasonal shifts like this aren’t just symbolic to us, they’re something we actually honor and prepare for.
For me, that preparation looks simple. I open the windows more. I clear out spaces that have felt heavy or stagnant. I refresh little corners of the house, tend to my plants, and spend more time outside. It’s less about doing everything and more about creating room (physically and mentally), for a lighter, more present season.
I also take a moment to ask myself what I’m bringing with me into summer… and what I’m not. What habits actually support me? What feels like noise? What can I release so I can actually enjoy this season instead of rushing through it?
I’m curious: Do you do anything, intentionally or not, to prepare for summer? If you’re someone who does not get excited by this time of year, apologies in advance for my jubilation. It is my favorite, after all.

🧠 Lifestyle & Wellness: Summer Edition
Report Summer Can Be Great For Your Nervous System
For those of you who may not see summer as the most ideal season for you, allow me to introduce a few reasons why it could be great for your nervous system.
You see, as the days get longer, your body is actively recalibrating. Increased sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, which governs your sleep-wake cycle, hormone production, and energy levels. When that rhythm is more aligned, sleep tends to feel deeper, mornings feel less heavy, and your overall capacity to handle stress improves.
There’s also a mood component. Sunlight boosts serotonin production, which plays a major role in emotional regulation and mental stability. This is part of why many people feel lighter, more social, or more motivated in the summer months. It’s not just mindset, it’s actually biology.
At the same time, more light exposure lowers melatonin during the day (helping you feel alert), while supporting its release at night when your body has a consistent rhythm. That balance is everything for recovery, mood, and nervous system regulation.
However, it’d be neglectful if I didn’t mention that summer can also dysregulate you if your life suddenly becomes more chaotic. Kids are home, routines shift, schedules loosen, and without some structure, that “freedom” can quietly turn into overwhelm.
So instead of trying to pack more into this season, think about supporting your body in simple, repeatable ways, like getting outside early in the day, moving your body consistently, limiting overstimulation, and protecting your sleep.
Summer isn’t about doing more. It’s about finally giving your body what it’s been asking for!

🍑 Awareness Month Spotlight
Men’s Health Matters More Than We Talk About
June is Men’s Health Awareness Month, and if we’re being honest, a lot of the conversations around men’s health, especially when it comes to reproductive cancers, are still quiet, uncomfortable, or avoided altogether. But awareness is what actually saves lives.
Penile cancer, while rare, typically begins as a small visible change on the skin and can become serious if ignored. Early detection matters. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men (affecting about 1 in 8), and it often develops silently, which is why routine screening is so important. Testicular cancer, though less common, most often affects younger men and is highly treatable when caught early, often first noticed as a painless lump.
These aren’t just “men’s issues.” They’re human ones. Partners, families, and communities are all impacted, which makes education and openness critical.
On the wellness side, many people are exploring microdosing cannabis as part of a broader approach to health and well-being. Early research suggests cannabinoids like THC and CBD may provide support in areas such as comfort, relaxation, and overall quality of life, although more research is needed. While cannabis is not a replacement for professional medical care, it continues to play a growing role in conversations about wellness, symptom management, and supportive care.
The more we talk about it, the better outcomes we create.
