National Collector’s Mint announces the limited release of FINAL YEAR O-Mint Morgan Silver Dollars. Still in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, these 1904 Silver Dollars are among the last surviving Morgans still in existence.
Never, since these last coins were struck over 120 years ago, has the New Orleans Mint produced another single Morgan Dollar.
Steeped in history, the famed New Orleans Mint struck hundreds of millions of coins, but its doors closed forever in 1909. Today, coins bearing the “O” mint mark are some of the most sought after among collectors. The New Orleans Mint is the only mint to strike coins for three different governments (United States, Confederacy, and State of Louisiana)!
KING OF AMERICA’S COINS
Struck in over ¾ ounce of .999 Pure Silver, Morgans were minted at the New Orleans Mint from 1879 to 1904 (Morgans were minted again in 1921, but only at the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints). The Morgan was then a favorite of the ranchers, miners, bankers and saloon keepers who helped shape the western frontier. They’ve long since become the most popular among coin collectors worldwide.
