Quick Care Tips

Sun: Thrives in full sun. It needs at least 6 hours of direct all-day sunlight to produce the most intense orange tones and strong, rigid stems that won't flop over.

Soil: Highly adaptable! It excels in average, poor, or rocky soils, provided it has excellent drainage. It does not like soggy winter soil.

Water: Low water needs. Water regularly during its first season to help the root system establish, but once settled, it is remarkably drought-tolerant and handles neglect beautifully.

Pruning: Deadhead spent flowers often throughout the summer to encourage a non-stop flush of fresh buds. In late fall, after the leaves turn yellow, prune the mounds back to the ground (just remember to leave a few winter seedheads for the birds!).
