You taught them to drive. You sat in that passenger seat for months. You said "check your mirrors" so many times it stopped sounding like words. You gripped the door handle on every turn and stomped a brake pedal that wasn’t there more times than you’ll ever admit. And then one day they passed the test, got the keys, and pulled out of the driveway without you. That was the deal. You teach them, they learn, they leave. Nobody told you about the part where you stand at the kitchen window and wait for the sound of the car coming back. Now it’s summer. They’re packing for college, or starting a new job, or driving to practice across town on a route that has a merge you don’t love and a parking lot where nobody looks before backing out. They’re fine. They’re good drivers. You made sure of that. But they’re young. And the guy who rear-ends them at the light doesn’t know that. He knows they look young and nervous and might not push back when he says it wasn’t his fault. Joann knows that feeling. She has two college kids on the road. She put a camera in all three of her vehicles. ★★★★★

"I have three vehicles, two driven by my college students. It makes me feel good to have this peace of mind that something is looking out for them. Accidents happen but sometimes people prey on new drivers and tell them everything is ok and it is not, especially when the other party is at fault."
— Joann A.
You can’t ride with them anymore. But a Nexar on their windshield records every drive, and if something happens, the footage goes straight to the cloud. They don’t need to argue with anyone. They don’t need to remember the details. The camera was there, even when you couldn’t be. |
