Hi Friend,
It's Father's Day on Sunday. I miss my dad, as I'm sure many of you miss yours too. His shoulders were always the best place to be.
Thankfully, I'm still blessed to be one to a couple great kids.
They say "any fool can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad."
I can't remember a single time my dad fell short. Maybe he was just too much of my hero for me to see his flaws or mistakes.
Being a dad with that role's expectations, I know I've missed the mark many times. I'll just never be as good as the guy I followed.
Still, we dads have a job to do.
Teach our kids right from wrong. Hold them accountable. Model hard work. Show them love with both kisses and spankings. Cheer them on. Tell them the truth. Lift them up. Keep them fed, clothed, and warm. Pray for them. Then love them again, and again, and again.
For all you dads out there, you know what I mean.
I wish you all a very happy Father's Day.
