and...on a personal note...

Those of you who have followed my story know all about my Aunt Bev. She has been my "rock" my entire life - from the moment I was born.

Whenever a therapist hears my life story (childhood), their first question is, "Wh0 was your rock? Who was the stable person in your life because there had to be a healthy person for you to have come through this in one piece? Who was that person for you?"

My answer is always the same - my Aunt Bev was my mother figure. She lifted me up when I didn't believe in myself and she loved me unconditionally...always. My Aunt Bev was the first person I called when I was pregnant, and the first person I shared all important news with. Whenever I wrote a new book, I couldn't share the purchase link with anyone until she bought the first copy. She was always my biggest cheerleader. Since the day I got my first cell phone at the age of 26, we've talked or text daily - for twenty years. I share the little moments, the heart rocks I find...I share the silly things and the important things.

Not only has she been my rock - she's also been a guardian angel to many of you at OMB. She never wanted to receive recognition (and refused to allow me to give her credit) BUT since 2011 when I started OMB, she follows the stories and the social media comments. I can't count the number of times she read about a single mom struggling on our page and would ask me to contact the mom so she could send $50 or buy her a book. She didn't have much, but she was rich in all the ways that matter. Whenever I would launch a new course, I would immediately see her name enrolled - and her request was always for me to find someone in need and give the spot to them. She never missed 'Coffee with Tina' on YouTube or any of my live broadcasts - she has always been my biggest fan.

This is the most difficult thing I've ever had to type:  Aunt Bev contracted Covid on July 27th - she's been on a ventilator since August 10th and last night, they started the process of pulling her off the machines that are keeping her alive. Last night, I said my good-byes to the kindest, most loving woman I've ever known. I don't know how I will "do life" without my rock.

Please keep my Aunt Bev in your prayers - just as she has done for all of you...for all these years.

Love, Tina

Here is our vision: We envision a research-led and trauma-informed family court system that acts with urgency and without bias to protect children from abuse while ensuring accountability and enforcement of their human rights.

More specifically;
  • Legislation, based on evidence-based factors, is in place and enforced in all 50 US states and internationally to ensure children's safety is the top priority when making decisions regarding child custody.
  • The abuse of a protective parent and its impact on their child is accurately correlated and met with appropriate safety measures.
  • Coercive control is recognized as a form of domestic violence in all 50 US states and internationally.
  • Judges, legal professionals, our communities, and elected officials are part of the solution to protect children from Adverse Childhood Experiences  (ACEs), a leading indicator of life-long health and well-being.
  • Trauma-informed judicial practices are integrated into every courtroom.
  • Judges, lawyers, legal professionals, and child welfare services engage in mandated continuing education on the impacts of high conflict personalities  in custody cases. Guidance is provided for successfully navigating these cases with compassion and accountability in ways that mitigate conflict (See the Santa Clara Study ) and protect safe caregivers and their children from all forms of post-separation abuse .

Your support allows us to further develop awareness campaigns, expand our Free Global Family Court Advocacy Community & create resources and trainings to help advocate in local communities around the globe; all critical in raising awareness and advocating for much-needed Family Court reform.

We hope that, regardless of gender, those who value healthy outcomes for our children will stand with us in this movement.

We do believe that peace is possible. With your support, it will be.

Thank you,
