and...on a personal note...
Those of you who have followed my story know all about my Aunt Bev. She has been my "rock" my entire life - from the moment I was born.
Whenever a therapist hears my life story (childhood), their first question is, "Wh0 was your rock? Who was the stable person in your life because there had to be a healthy person for you to have come through this in one piece? Who was that person for you?"
My answer is always the same - my Aunt Bev was my mother figure. She lifted me up when I didn't believe in myself and she loved me unconditionally...always. My Aunt Bev was the first person I called when I was pregnant, and the first person I shared all important news with. Whenever I wrote a new book, I couldn't share the purchase link with anyone until she bought the first copy. She was always my biggest cheerleader. Since the day I got my first cell phone at the age of 26, we've talked or text daily - for twenty years. I share the little moments, the heart rocks I find...I share the silly things and the important things.
Not only has she been my rock - she's also been a guardian angel to many of you at OMB. She never wanted to receive recognition (and refused to allow me to give her credit) BUT since 2011 when I started OMB, she follows the stories and the social media comments. I can't count the number of times she read about a single mom struggling on our page and would ask me to contact the mom so she could send $50 or buy her a book. She didn't have much, but she was rich in all the ways that matter. Whenever I would launch a new course, I would immediately see her name enrolled - and her request was always for me to find someone in need and give the spot to them. She never missed 'Coffee with Tina' on YouTube or any of my live broadcasts - she has always been my biggest fan.
This is the most difficult thing I've ever had to type: Aunt Bev contracted Covid on July 27th - she's been on a ventilator since August 10th and last night, they started the process of pulling her off the machines that are keeping her alive. Last night, I said my good-byes to the kindest, most loving woman I've ever known. I don't know how I will "do life" without my rock.
Please keep my Aunt Bev in your prayers - just as she has done for all of you...for all these years.
Love, Tina
