Dear -,
I wanted to make sure you saw this: The World Food Programme has been forced to HALVE food support in refugee camps. This is putting even greater pressure on families whose lives are already pushed to the limits EACH AND EVERY DAY.
Itâs why your support for lasting, communityâdesigned solutions matters so much right now. That means simple but powerful cookery classes where people share how to make home-grown produce go further. Or the ingenious vertical gardening kits you might have seen in my last email (Iâve included the full message below âŹïž).
The need for these reliable solutions is becoming more urgent every day. As the world forgets, I know you will remember refugees and those in crisis, including the Rohingya people today. |

URGENT: FOOD CUTS THREATEN LIVES
|
|
|
|
-, the news here remains desperate but largely unreported. Over the last year, the World Food Programme has been forced to cut food supplies across many refugee communities. In some places, support has been reduced by as much as half. For families already living with very little, these cuts are pushing people to their limits.Â
Will you support families living in a long-term disaster? Your donation can help support people finding ingenious ways to grow food in the toughest conditions all over the world.

Dear -,
I would like to share the work weâre doing here in Bangladesh, one example of how your support is making a difference. More than one million refugees are now living in overcrowded camps in Coxâs Bazar. With life confined to a 5x5m plot, food is hard to grow and difficult to afford.
But through EXTRAORDINARY ingenuity, people here are finding solutions. Lasting, dependable solutions like vertical gardening and community cooking classes. And we must help these solutions reach more people.
Back home in Myanmar, Tahera had always grown food for her family - but found this was impossible in such a cramped living space: âWe had plenty of land in Burma where we used to farm,â she told me. âSince we migrated here, we do not have any land.âÂ
Things are starting to change, thanks to an ingenious vertical gardening kit from Oxfamâs local partner, Mukti. Tahera is growing vegetables upwards - up the walls, across the roof of her family's shelter.Â
âWe implemented the training, and now we can feed ourselves from those crops.â

As long-term crises continue and people are pushed to their limits, will you make a vital donation today? Your gift will help bring these and other life-changing solutions to communities where they're needed the most:
Â
đȘŽÂŁ25 can help buy âverticalâ garden kits so people can grow vegetables up walls and along roofs, providing nutritious food and incomes
Â
đ§ÂŁ50 can support accessible, flood-proof water points and tap stands that stop disease and keep people safe
Â
đœÂŁ80 can support toilets designed with communities for communities, protecting peopleâs health, dignity and safety

Food is just one of the ways your support can make a major difference. Everywhere I look in Coxâs Bazar, I see examples of extraordinary ingenuity in the face of a long-term crisis. But the pressures are growing, both here in Coxâs Bazar and in crises around the world.
We must support more of these solutions to keep communities healthy. In Coxâs Bazar, 30,000 babies are born every year, and the pressure on already stretched resources is growing.
Please, if you can, remember people living through crises and donate today.Â
Thank you for your support. Your gift will support more work like this, helping communities build lasting change.

PS. Since the start of this month, over 1.1 million people across Bangladesh, including in Cox's Bazar, have been badly affected by floods caused by heavy monsoon rainfall. Your gift can support more families and keep life going in fragile conditions, in Coxâs Bazar and around the world.
