We are Nathan and Rex, the founders of Paire. Two guys who want your feet to feel good. It may sound weird, but here's the story.

The beginning of something comfortable

Quite simply, Nathan was sick and tired of holes in his wool socks. A big fan of wool socks after a cold morning surf, he found that while they kept him warm they didn’t last long at all and would find holes in all of them after some use.

Nathan wanted all of the magic that came with wool, but with the durability of normal cotton socks. What if we made socks that were half wool for warmth and comfort, half cotton for strength and breathability.

That’s when he reached out to his best friend Rex, who is also a textiles expert. What research came back with is that these two fibres are technically extremely difficult to make as the plant and animal fibres naturally resist each other.

After many factory visits across the world, there was one small factory in Germany that was open to experimenting and wanted to help make the 50/50 wool cotton yarn together. They called it the supreme Cool Blend™.

And so Paire was born.

But the guys didn’t want to just stop at the yarn. They wanted to put every comfortable idea that was ever created into one affordable sock.

Hand-sewn seamless toes for less bunching. 90-degree sock design for more natural wearing. Heel and sole cloud cushioning for all-day wearing. Lightly elasticated cuff for always-up socks.

All these clever ideas into one sock, together with a game-changing 50/50 yarn, resulted in what has been described by many of their thousands of customers as the most comfortable socks in the world.

Affordable, from $19.90 a pair. Durable, natural materials doing what they do best. And sustainable, organic cotton and Australian merino wool were all ethically sourced and harmless to the planet.
