Honoring Our Veterans This Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Hi there,

Today we remember our grandfather, Julian Van Winkle II. He served in the Army during World War II. As a Captain, he led men through battle, receiving both a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. While we didn't get to have him in our lives for long, we've learned more about him recently, especially his time in the war. He kept a thorough journal that included thoughts about leadership, business, and the moments that kept him calm during the toughest moments.

All throughout the war, he kept up with the bourbon business. Many of the letters and notes we found are filled with the business upkeep. But it's clear from his journal entries that his focus on the business helped him to keep going.
