Hey ,
We have a collection of recent releases from Wasenhaus - whites and reds, as well as rare large formats - which we're excited to offer now. The duo behind Wasenhaus, Christoph Wolber and Alex Götze, remain one of the hottest tickets in German wine, and quantities of all are limited. Let us know if you have any questions.
Given Christoph and Alex's experiences working in Burgundy at Leflaive, Pierre Morey, and de Montille, it’s no surprise that they craft bright, mineral-driven white wines from chardonnay. This is only the second-ever vintage of the particularly chiseled, single-vineyard Hohlen bottling.
No producer, in Germany or otherwise, does weissburgunder (pinot blanc) like Wasenhaus. These are fresh, salty, super pure white wines, which is clearly on display in the straight Weissburgunder bottling. The Bellen is elegant and floral compared to the more concentrated, deeply textured Möhlin.
Light, juicy, and tart, this spätburgunder (pinot noir) is an easy-drinking chilled red.
More richly fruited and earthy than the Grand Ordaire, this is like a vibrant Red Burgundy.
Like in Burgundy a couple hours to the west, limestone soils here in Baden yield pinot noir with precision, chalky minerality, and finesse.
This pinot noir from volcanic soils is mineral-driven, fresh, and bright-fruited.
Wasenhaus' single-vineyard pinot noirs are some of Germany's very best red wines. We only have 1 or 2 bottles of each available.
Enjoy,
Grant
