👋 Hey there,
For years, the team at Partners Coffee has been asking ourselves, "What is the best way to showcase our sourcing integrity and the relationships we've built at origin?" Well, the answer is here: the first offering in our Exceptional Coffee lineup, Edin Lopez Gesha.
As the name suggests, the coffees in this collection are rare and extraordinary coffees that have been selected for their quality or distinctive character, oftentimes only in extremely limited supply. As such, all Exceptional Coffees will only be available for just a few weeks after launch.
Keep reading to learn more about the release of our first Exceptional Coffee and catch a sneak peek at an upcoming seasonal coffee release we're looking forward to.

🇭🇳 ✨ Now Roasting: Edin Lopez Gesha
This stunning gesha comes to us from Edin Geovany Lopez of Santa Bárbara, Honduras. Edin and his family grow coffee on a small but picturesque farm on the Santa Bárbara Mountain overlooking Lake Yojoa. They process and dry their coffee in the nearby community of El Cedral before delivering finished parchment to Beneficio San Vicente, whose incredible team supports them in dry milling, quality feedback, and more.
This tiny lot was produced like a traditionally washed coffee, but sealed in barrels to reduce its exposure to ambient oxygen during the fermentation stage.
The result is an incredibly clean, round, syrupy coffee full of ripe summer fruit - we're tasting melon, strawberry, blackberry, peach, lime, and jasmine with a hint of caramel in the finish.
This is a truly exceptional cup that we're delighted to share.

P.S. Enjoy more from this producer with Honduras - Edin Lopez, a Limited Release that we began roasting just a few weeks ago!

👨🌾 🤝 Partner Story: Edin Lopez Gesha
Check out an excerpt from our newest release's Partner Story, written by our Green Coffee Buyer, and click the link below to read the full story:
Edin and his family are relatively new to coffee, having moved to Santa Bárbara from the city in the last seven years or so. They reside in a part of the mountain called El Cedral where they have two plots under cultivation - the main farm, occupying just one hectare, and an even smaller variety garden.
The main farm begins at 1,400 meters elevation and is primarily planted with pacas and bourbon. In the coming years they plan to renovate the farm, sectioning it into quadrants which will be replanted with new varieties deemed optimal for the farm's soil and microclimate.
Gesha is a delicate, low-yielding variety that can be very difficult to cultivate, hence its scarcity. When grown, harvested, processed, and roasted well, it produces an exceptional cup with floral aromas and delicate, citrus and tea-like qualities or complex, syrupy fruit qualities depending on the processing.

📺 🎤 What We're Watching: Eurovision
My team always teases me because I love Eurovision; so when I was asked (probably in jest) if I wanted to include it as this week's recommendation, I called their bluff and said HECK YES.
There's a lot of misconception, in my opinion, about what the program is - mostly because of the 2020 satirical movie by the same name, starring Dan Stevens, Will Ferrell, and Rachel McAdams.
It's genuinely just a fun way to celebrate music and root for countries around the world (because Eurovision also includes Australia, so we can't just say "Europe" here).
This year's winner was Bulgaria with the song Bangaranga by Dara, and if you love good staging and live performances, I highly suggest giving it a watch!
This was Bulgaria's first win, and one of the first wins for an Eastern European country in quite a while - so it's a fun milestone in a lot of ways. It also has a 10/10 studio release on streaming platforms; I guarantee you'll hear this song at some point this summer.
And in case you, unlike my esteemed colleagues, read this and are like "damn Andrew, that's so cool," I've included a list of my personal favorites below:
That was a lot, and I really blew up my space here; go enjoy some Sunday morning tunes (Eurovision-related or otherwise) and enjoy your week ahead! 😃 😆

| "Worth every sip. These coffee beans are SO good. Super fresh, smooth, and flavorful without tasting bitter at all. The smell alone makes my mornings better 🤎 I’ve tried a lot of coffee and this one honestly tastes like something you’d get from a cute local coffee shop at home. Definitely repurchasing!" -Nina S. |
