🇰🇪 ✨ Now Roasting: Kenya - Rianjagi
The Rianjagi cooperative represents more than 2,500 member farmers in Embu County, Kenya. This is our first Kenyan offering in several years and we’re excited to be working with Rockbern Coffee, a relatively new exporter founded by third-generation coffee producer Peter Muchiri.
This lot carries all the signatures of an excellent Kenyan coffee. Notes of blackberry, clementine, pomegranate, and golden raisin meet subtle tones of molasses and ginger in a high clarity, dynamic cup.

🤝 💙 Partner Story: Rianjagi
Check out an excerpt from our newest release's Partner Story, written by our Green Coffee Buyer, and click the link below to read the full story and dive deeper into the history of coffee production in Kenya:
The Rianjagi Factory is located in Embu County on the southeastern side of Mt. Kenya. The factory, as washing stations are known in Kenya, belongs to the Rianjagi Farmer’s Cooperative Society, whose membership consists of more than 2,500 local farmers.
Farms here are incredibly small in scale, with plots averaging less than a quarter of a hectare. Coffee here grows alongside tea, subsistence crops, and shade trees, which frequently include avocados, macadamias, and mangoes.
Rianjagi's farmers cultivate mostly SL-28 and SL-34, varieties developed by Scott Labs in the 1930s specifically to succeed in Kenya's climate. Because SL-28 and SL-34 are susceptible to coffee leaf rust and coffee berry disease, farmers here also grow some Batian and Ruiru 11, newer, disease-resistant cultivars developed through selective cross breeding of several other varieties including both common SLs and the Timor hybrids...

🧡 ☕️ What We're Listening To: Stray Kids
Stray Kids’ latest mini-album has been a favorite of mine lately, especially during my city commutes. The title track stands out with its high-energy beat, bringing a sense of ambition and confidence that makes it a great way to start the day.
And what better pairing with the lyrics in "This & That" than a cappuccino or an americano made with Partners Coffee? I hope you’ll give it a listen and enjoy it as much as I do!
