Dear Pax Philomena Patron,
Bold, vibrant, and steeped in history—our Bukhara Italian Silk returns in two striking new colorways: Regal Purple and Coral.
Inspired by the legendary Silk Road city of Bukhara, a crossroads of trade, culture, and textile artistry for centuries, this exclusive design draws from an original historic document and reimagines the dramatic geometry of traditional Central Asian ikats. The print was developed exclusively for Pax Philomena by one of the world's most prestigious silk printing mills in Como, Italy. You will not find this design anywhere else.
Purple evokes the luxury and grandeur once reserved for royalty, while Coral captures the warmth, optimism, and energy of summer. To complement these new silks, I have paired them with several extraordinary jewelry pieces, including a rare Mexican Morado Purple Opal necklace unlike any gemstone I have encountered in decades of sourcing, a remarkable hand-faceted Labradorite Quatrefoil necklace alive with flashes of electric blue, and several new Native American creations by Gladys, our trusted Santo Domingo Pueblo artisan. Gladys creates these necklaces especially for Pax Philomena, carrying forward a jewelry-making tradition that has been passed down through generations of Pueblo artists.
Alongside these new arrivals, we have also brought back several of our most beloved cotton dresses—pieces that are becoming increasingly difficult to produce. Colored with natural indigo and other botanical dyes, they rely on techniques that few artisans still practice today. To recreate these designs, we commissioned master block printers in Rajasthan whose expertise has been passed down through generations.
