Dear Pen Family,
This week is a little bittersweet for me.
My daughter, Shriya, begins a new chapter as she starts her first day working in New York. Many of you know her from the store, and you've experienced firsthand her energy, enthusiasm, and her ability to "penable" just about anyone into the wonderful world of fountain pens. She brings that same liveliness home, so I know the house is going to feel a little quieter. As a parent, it's one of those moments where you're incredibly proud, yet you can't help but miss them already. I know she'll do great, and I can't wait to see where this new journey takes her.
Last weekend, we had Damien, the nibmeister, back at Pen Boutique, and as expected, he was fully booked! What I always admire about Damien is that, even when his schedule is packed, he never hesitates to answer questions, offer advice, or let customers try different nibs. His passion for helping people find the perfect writing experience is truly contagious.
We also had the soft opening of our new Ink & Stationery space, and seeing our local customers walk in and explore it for the first time was incredibly rewarding. It's still a work in progress, but already the atmosphere has changed. With walls filled with inks and shelves dedicated to stationery, it feels like a place where people can slow down, explore, and simply enjoy the hobby. It has given our fountain pen community a whole new vibe, and I'm excited to continue building it over the coming weeks.
This Saturday, we're in for another fun day! Ross from Yafa will be hosting an event at our store from 10 AM – 5 PM, and he is genuinely excited to spend the day with our customers.
