Dear Pen Family,
Wow, what a week!
On Monday night, we hosted our very first Hobonichi Launch Party, and what an evening it turned out to be. Even though the event didn't start until 8:30 PM, we had Hobonichi lovers lining up outside from 7:00 PM!
We had snacks, coffee, drinks—and, most importantly, cookies! My team had everything organized and ready because we knew we had more than 100 people coming. I walked through the line talking with everyone, and there was such a happy, excited energy. It was wonderful seeing our local stationery community come together like that.
A little later in the evening, though, my anxiety got the better of me. With everything happening in Nepal and knowing that 10% of the night's sales were going to the Nepal Flood Relief Fund, I think all the emotions of the past week finally caught up with me, and I had to step away.
And this is where I have to brag about my staff a little. I always say how lucky I am to have this team, and Monday night was another reminder. They didn't miss a beat. They took over, kept everything moving, and made sure our customers continued to have a wonderful evening. After a couple of hours I was feeling better, but they insisted that I rest. I am incredibly grateful to them.
We finally wrapped up around midnight, got the Hobonichi products online, and called it a night! We now have LOTS of orders to pack, and our team is working hard to get everything out to you. Thank you to everyone who came, everyone who ordered online, and everyone who helped make our first Hobonichi party such a memorable one.
And yes... the Chick-fil-A nuggets were definitely a hit! ;)
After this long and exciting week, Pen Boutique will be closed for Labor Day so our team can enjoy a very well-deserved day of rest.
One more thing that is very close to my heart: throughout this week, Pen Boutique will donate 5% of our sales to the Nepal Flood Relief Fund. Thank you for helping us support those affected and for allowing our little pen community to do something meaningful together.
What a week indeed. Thank you for being part of it.
KEEP WRITING.
Sincerely,
Leena
