I replied: I get that you have these feelings but of course it’s only because your media lies to you and you believe those lies. No one who has spent their careers focused on China or Russia believes that today’s Republicans are putting America first but are instead simply acting as tools for those countries that oppose our values most.
It’s like Sean Hannity testified under oath not “for one second” does he believe the lies he is directed to tell by Fox News but he tells those lies anyway. I know you want to love America and do what’s right for our nation’s future, but you really can’t do that while holding beliefs 180 degrees at odds with reality.
It sure seems with all the lawsuits and infighting the Republican machine is starting to self-destruct. Maybe one day in 2023 you will wake up steadfast in your beliefs but that will be the day the final lie lands like a straw on your back and you go to sleep knowing just how wrong you’ve been about so very much these past six years.
Sooner or later it will happen. Lies are like bubbles, and bubbles always burst. It’s only a matter of time.

I think and hope 2023 will be a lot like this. Tremendous headway can be made this year if we can maintain both our Outrage for the lies today’s Republican party is built upon and for those creating and spreading these lies, while at the same time maintaining our love for those who honestly believe the lies. As a Cook people look to you for direction far more than you may imagine. Let’s all work to make 2023 a year of direction.
