There’s so much so good about being a spice business, but one of the more tricky bits is how to get new people to come in the door for the first time. Ads don’t do it. Even seeing someone you know likes us doesn’t do it. Pretty much the only thing we’ve found over the years is customers actually reaching out to friends and family and saying: “Hey you should give Penzeys a try.” Thanks for saying that about our 233 Market Street store and our other stores as well. You really do make us possible.
After Wednesday’s email someone wrote to say it was nice to see us leave politics out of an email. I smiled. Less than five blocks up Market Street is literally where the Declaration of Independence was written. We are in the very spot that set in motion everything the Republicans tried to end January 6. Government by the people, for the people was born right on our street. Sometimes the politics go without saying. I really like Market Street.
