Hot summer days can make it tricky to bring your pets along for daily adventures, and if you're anything like me, that's easier said than done.
I've got two dogs who could easily pass for fur balls (thanks, Eli and Maple), and they're always tagging along for everything summer throws at us — lake days with the paddle board, hikes, grabbing a pup cup at our favorite café. But active dogs still need their daily exercise, even when it's blazing out.
So I know that moment all too well: the panting gets heavier. They won't settle down. And I start wondering: are they just warm, or is this something more? When should I actually be concerned?
If you've ever panicked when your dog seemed too hot, you're definitely not alone.
Here are a few tips to cool your dog down, plus a few signs to watch for that it might be time to act.
