| Friend,
When our country marks its 300th anniversary, fifty years from now, I believe Americans will look back with particular focus on the events of the 2020s. I think often about what they will say about this present moment by then.
Will it be remembered as the decade when the American Dream slipped decisively out of reach, and the American experiment fell apart? When money consolidated its grasp on political power, and the politically powerful cemented their ability to use their offices to make money?
Or will it be remembered for something else?
It is not too late for the 2020s to earn a different place in our history. Ours could still be the story of a decade in which people found common cause – demanding that our politics become more accountable, our economy fairer, our future brighter.
It could be known as the decade in which, facing catastrophe, we chose reform.
And if we make that turn, it will happen largely because of the races on the ballot just a few weeks from today.
That's the reason Win the Era exists as an organization – to help shape that story by showing up in places too often skipped, having direct conversations, online and offline, with people who don’t always agree with us, and backing candidates who can usher in a new kind of politics.
But that is only possible because we have built a community of people who believe in those same principles, who help work towards that future by chipping in a little at a time. If you can, I would be so grateful if you would help us continue powering our efforts by making a donation today:
