| Friend,
It's easy these days to feel uncertain about where this country is headed. I feel that too. Some mornings the path forward is genuinely hard to see, and no amount of scrolling makes it clearer.
What makes it clearer for me, almost every time, is getting out on the road. I'll walk into a room in a place plenty of people have already written off, and I'll find people who are already doing the work – organizing, knocking doors, building something before anyone told them it was worth building.
I once heard, and have often repeated, that hope is the consequence of action, not the cause of it. It would be easy – comfortable, even – to wait around for a reason to feel hopeful before doing anything. A good poll. A good headline. A good month. But that gets the order backwards.
Hope isn't a mood that shows up first and convinces you to act. It's what you find growing once you’ve already stepped up.
That concept is something I will carry with me everywhere I go – not waiting to be reassured about the odds before doing the work, but doing the work and generating the hope to keep it going.
If uncertainty has had the upper hand for you lately, I understand.
But my advice is not to wait for that to resolve itself before you do something. It doesn't have to be a big something. Show up to an event near you. Have the conversation with a neighbor you've been putting off. Or consider making a contribution to our work here at Win the Era – whatever the one small step is that's actually available to you right now.

Thank you,

P.S. One source of hope for me is seeing the action that thousands of you have taken to help power this work. My ability to uplift candidates, travel, and have the team I do wouldn’t be possible without people who believe in it giving a little at a time. I would be grateful if you consider making a contribution to help us keep up that work.
