Friend,
I just got to Montana, where this weekend I am participating in a town hall in support of a statewide reform effort to get corporate money out of politics.
On my way in, I was reflecting on all the places I’ve been this year, and there’s something I keep coming back to:
People across this country – in red states, blue states, and everywhere in between – are hungry for a democracy that feels more accountable to ordinary citizens.
After years of unlimited corporate money flooding our system, a lot of Americans understandably feel disconnected from politics altogether.
The organizers and volunteers I’ll be meeting here haven’t given up on democracy. They’re building something rooted in transparency, participation, and real community – and I think there’s something powerful about that right now.
This work, in Montana and across the country, can’t just happen in Washington or in the final days of an election. We have to invest in trust-building and grassroots initiatives everywhere we can, and boost the efforts of people on the ground doing the hard work of organizing their own communities because they believe that change can come.
That’s what your support helps make possible.
If you can, chip in to support the work I’m doing to amplify the causes, candidates, and issues that matter ahead of November:
