What is the cost of pet insurance?

Petplan understands that pets have unique needs and we do our best to cater to them through flexible policy options. That's why the cost for pet insurance depends on the following six factors:

Location

Veterinary care costs vary by region. Treatment typically costs more in cities and large towns than in rural locations.

Age

Older pets tend to cost more since they are more likely to suffer from an illness or accident.

Breed

Cats tend to be cheaper to insure than dogs. Certain dog and cat breeds have a higher risk for hereditary issues than others.

Annual Coverage

From $2,500 to unlimited, you choose the maximum annual amount you'll be reimbursed per policy year.

Reimbursement Level

Select the percentage of your claim for which you’ll be reimbursed after your copayment and deductible have been met: 70%, 80% or 90%!

Annual Deductible

This fixed annual amount is what you are responsible for before insurance kicks in. When you submit a claim, we apply your chosen copay to the claim amount, subtract your deductible and reimburse you for the remainder. Choose from $250 to $1,000.
