We’ve spent all week talking about sun protection and how the sun is our skin's absolute worst enemy. We know it breaks down our collagen and causes photoaging.
But did you know that prolonged sun exposure doesn't just cause wrinkles and pigmentation? It can also severely dehydrate your skin.
Here is where it gets incredibly tricky: when your skin becomes super dehydrated from the sun (or from your chemical peels!), it will actually create MORE oil to try and make up for the missing water content.
This leads to a really frustrating cycle. You might think you have an "oily" skin type because you have a sheen of oil on your face and sudden breakouts, but underneath, your skin actually feels tight, flat, and papery. People are misdiagnosing their skin types all day long because of this!
