Why Dalton Kincaid will finish as a top-four TE, plus four other bold calls for 2026

We are five days from the start of the NFL season, which means it's time for bold predictions. These are all things I think are more likely than the average person would guess, even if none of them is the most likely outcome. I try to mix macro predictions about the league as a whole with micro ones about individual players.

One of the most straightforward is that Dalton Kincaid finishes as a top-four fantasy tight end.

Among tight ends with at least 400 routes over the past two seasons, Kincaid ranks sixth in PFF receiving grade, first in target rate and second in yards after the catch per reception. Only George Kittle is ahead of him in yards per route run, which makes him one of the most talented receivers at the position when healthy. The problem is availability. A torn PCL has limited him to 12 games and an average of 37.6% of offensive snaps across those two years. He opted against surgery on his doctors' advice and says he feels significantly better, but the Bills' coaching staff has publicly acknowledged ongoing uncertainty about his week-to-week status.

Working in his favor is the quarterback situation, which is as good as any tight end outside the elite tier can claim, in an offense that added DJ Moore and should otherwise look familiar. If he holds up, the ceiling is top-four. Pairing him with a safer second option is close to mandatory.
