The second week of the preseason kicked off last night with two games, and all four teams played at least some of their projected starters.
Every preseason there is at least one tight end with a top-20 ADP whose usage suggests he has no business being there. Usually it's a player who only sees the field in certain situations, and the limited route volume that comes with it makes scoring fantasy points much harder. This case is more extreme. The tight end in question isn't even on the field with the starters in 11 or 12 personnel.
That's Oronde Gadsden II of the Los Angeles Chargers. The team added Charlie Kolar and David Njoku this offseason, and those two were the only tight ends to play on the first two drives, with Kolar handling 11 personnel. Gadsden didn't get on the field until the third drive, after backups at other positions already entered the game, and kept playing into the second half. If anything, Kolar is the late-round sleeper here, not Gadsden.
