Twelve teams played in the preseason last night, and there was plenty to take away from a fantasy perspective. If you have any doubt the preseason is worth paying attention to, the Hall of Fame Game told us the Carolina Panthers aren't as high on tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders as they have been in past years. They have already made a change, signing free agent Darren Waller.
Second-round rookie receivers De'Zhaun Stribling of the San Francisco 49ers and Germie Bernard of the Pittsburgh Steelers lit up the box scores, which will only help their fantasy value. Usage in several other games was just as telling.
The running back rotations were the most notable piece. Jeremiyah Love started for the Arizona Cardinals despite being listed as a backup, and the Tennessee Titans rotated Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears more frequently under a new offensive coordinator.
It was also a bad night for anyone with a favorite sleeper tight end ranked between 20th and 32nd. Oronde Gadsden II, Gunnar Helm, Pat Freiermuth and Mike Gesicki all drew unideal usage, reinforcing why they aren't typically drafted in redraft leagues.
