WELL HELLO THERE!

Many of you have been with Nutrafruit for years, which means it might be time for some reminders about how the journey of Queen Garnet began!

This plum was selected in 2001 following a strategic breeding program by Queensland scientists. It was a result of the cross-pollination of two plum varieties, so it is not genetically modified. The aim of the breeding program was to develop a disease-resistant plum; however, after a number of crossbreeds, the researchers found this particular variety which had a beautiful, dark purple colour. They’ve tried to replicate it with other varieties to no avail, making our Queen a truly unique jewel.

The first trees were planted at Goodrich Orchard in Inglewood in Queensland back in 2010. 

Researchers across Australia have been studying Queen Garnet’s antioxidant potential ever since and have found that this fruit:

• Is good for your heart health
• Helps reduce systematic inflammation
• Stimulates a healthy immune response
