Checking in. I know it’s been a minute, I hope this finds you well!
Over the past 10 years I have been fascinated and inspired by outdoor clothing and have done my best to translate those details and ideas into this fashion label / creative output / company as a whole. Earlier this year, I launched the first collection under this new label called RCOS - which stands for RC Outdoor Supply. If you have followed along and seen this development, thank you. If you are unfamiliar with it, RCOS is kinda the inverse of the eponymous line. RCI has always been fashion with outdoor details & notes, RCOS is function first but designed through a fashion lens. RCOS has opened up an overwhelming amount of doors for me as a designer and as an individual and hopefully for you with products. RCI has always been expensive, that’s not lost on me. This is entirely due to our manufacturing and my tendency to try and do an anorak out of an Italian suiting wool. RCOS is cheaper. Make no mistake, RCOS is not a lesser quality or of lesser importance to me. We simply have a little bit more scale than RCI does and I’m focused on delivering the highest quality product we can with all the same thought processes as I have with RCI. RCI isn’t going anywhere, RCOS is just needing some attention right now to get a fair chance at getting out there. It’s still very early days of the label but I’m writing here today with a fun announcement.
We are opening our first retail store in Los Angeles. Right now, the opening date is August 15th. This is subject to change as in RCI fashion, we are building it ourselves. But so far everything seems on track… measure twice, cut once.
If you are in Los Angeles, I hope to see you on the 15th. If you’re not, maybe you’ll make the trip sometime. We’ll be here. It’s a pretty surreal feeling having something permanent instead of our typical 24-48hr pop ups. As much work as this is, I'm enjoying every moment I have with construction paper covering the windows before it’s no longer just mine.
