Hi there,
You might have missed this hidden bottle drop in our recent email feature of Pinhook’s Master Blender, Sean Josephs a few weeks ago. So, here’s your chance to get a first of its kind release.
Don’t miss out on the Pinhook Triple Double Oaked True Small Batch. This is an exclusive 2-barrel blend made by our Topflight Series Tasting Panel with Sean at the historic Old Taylor Distillery (Castle & Key) just last year. So, what exactly makes this double oaked release unique?
The Aging Process: A typical Double Oaked release uses the 2nd new oak barrel maturation / finishing for 2 months to 1 year, which gives you more oak tannins and some added complexity. In this Pinhook release, distilled at Castle & Key, they took a 3YO barrel and placed it in the 2nd barrel for THREE MORE YEARS. This added time allowed those often expected over-oaky notes to give way to deeper color and aromas, complex sugars and richer flavors.
Why Triple Double Oaked?: We called it a “Triple Double Oaked” because it’s Double the Oak (2nd New Oak Maturation), Double the Time (3 Year in the 1st barrel + 3 Year in the 2nd barrel), and Double the Barrels (This is only a 2-barrel small batch blend of stunning 3Y/3Y Double Oaked barrels).
