HMB & Athletes: How HMB supports muscles.

Hi -,
While many athletes know HMB supports muscle, fewer understand how it actually does that.
What HMB is:
HMB (beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate) is a naturally occurring metabolite of the essential amino acid leucine.
While leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis, HMB works on the other side of the equation: It supports muscle
cell membrane integrity and helps reduce breakdown of existing muscle protein.*
The function of HMB is critically different from that of creatine, which supports muscle development.*
When HMB matters most:
HMB is most effective under high muscle stress (the first weeks of a new program, high-volume training phases,
caloric deficits, and periods of detraining). The ISSN position stand confirms HMB is most effective when used for
at least two weeks prior to a bout that causes significant muscle damage.1
Effective Dosing
The clinical dose is 3g per day, the same amount used in the majority of positive HMB trials and recommended
by the ISSN. Creatine HMB delivers the full dose in one daily serving.*
Our new supplement combines creatine and HMB to support both sides of the muscle protein balance equation.*
The result is fewer supplements cluttering your cabinet, and clinically dosed support that does what it’s actually meant to do.
