When it comes to skincare, less is often more. Most products work best when used consistently, not excessively.

But there is one exception to that advice, and that exception is sunscreen.

With sunscreen, you likely need to use more than you think you do, even if you spend most of your day inside. That’s because studies show more than 50% of UV rays can penetrate glass. So you're at risk for sun damage inside your home, in your car, at work, and pretty much everywhere you go.

So, what should you look for in sunscreen? There’s an overwhelming amount of choices out there, but here’s a quick checklist:

Avoid irritating chemicals like Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, and Parabens
Choose an SPF of 30 or higher for daily protection
Look for non-nano mineral sun filters like Zinc and Titanium
