Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and mentors in our Roundhouse family.
As I woke up this morning at the ranch, I felt the weight and the beauty of this day in a way I never have before.
As many of you know, this is my first Mother's Day since Chuck's passing on March 19.
While the absence of Chuck's energy is felt in every room…
My heart is incredibly full of the memories we built over 27 years — and a renewed sense of purpose for the years ahead.
Today isn't just a celebration; for me, it's a reflection on Resilience.
The "Soccer Mom" with a Black Belt Mindset
When our twins, Dakota and Danilee, were growing up, the world saw Chuck as the ultimate warrior.
But inside our home, I was the one managing the logistics of a high-energy family.
I often jokingly called myself a "soccer mom with a black belt mindset."
We lived by a simple family philosophy:
"A family that trains together, stays together."
Raising twins in the shadow of their father's legacy meant we had to stay grounded in our health.
Whether we were researching cellular nutrition at the kitchen table or practicing drills together…
Fitness was our family's "connective tissue."
Today, seeing Dakota and Danilee — now 24 — navigate their grief with such grace and strength is the greatest "fitness result" I have ever witnessed.
They are the reason I am standing tall today, and they've encouraged me to keep writing to you.
Strength for the "Rounds" of Motherhood
Motherhood is a marathon, and sometimes it's a 12-round fight.
Especially when life hits you hard… when you're not expecting.
That's when we all are reminded:
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
As the "second brain behind the brawn" for many of the nutrition formulas we've shared over the years…
My "insider covert" mission has always been to ensure that mothers have the vitality to lead their families.
Whether you are chasing toddlers or supporting adult children through life's storms…
You need a body that can keep up with your heart.
To Those Celebrating in the Shadows
I also want to speak directly to those for whom today feels heavy:
-
For those whose mothers are now in Heaven.
-
For those who are navigating their first holiday after a devastating loss, like our family is.
- For those who have faced the heartbreak of an empty chair or a dream deferred.
When the world feels loud and the void feels large, I find my "9-1-1" in Psalm 91:1:
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
There is a profound comfort in knowing that even when we are the "refuge" for our families, we have a Fortress of our own to lean on.
Carrying the Torch
Chuck wouldn't want us to spend today standing still.
He'd want us to move, to breathe, and to celebrate the gift of life.
I am honored to carry his mission forward — to continue sharing the tips, research, and stories that help us all live stronger.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.
Today, take a moment to honor your own strength.
You are definitely a warrior in your own right.
With love and for his legacy,
Gena Norris
