Happy Memorial Day From the Norris Family
-,
This Memorial Day carries a new weight for me…
But the mission remains as clear as ever.
While many look at this holiday and long weekend as a time for grilling and “good grub”...
We must never lose sight of the real reason for this holiday:
Paying tribute to the fallen heroes who secured our freedoms with their very lives.
Because freedom has a cost, and that’s something we should never forget.
It’s moving to think roughly 1.3 million Americans have died while serving our country in the U.S. military.
As the saying goes, “All paid some. Some paid all.”
To Chuck and me, Memorial Day was never just a start of summer holiday on the calendar — it was a deeply personal day of remembrance.
In fact, Chuck’s brother, Wieland, was one of those brave souls who paid the ultimate price.
He died in action in Vietnam on June 3rd, 1970. He was “walking point” as the first person to move into unsecured territory, acting as the eyes and ears for the rest of the unit.
Their unit came under attack, and Wieland heroically drew out enemy fire so that others in his platoon could fight their way to freedom.
Chuck’s lifelong commitment to the troops was fueled by Wieland’s sacrifice, and that same passion inspired me to join him in advocating for our military and veterans.
Which is why, together, Chuck and I spent decades actively supporting our military veterans and law enforcement officers of all branches.
One of the greatest highlights for him was taking two trips to Iraq during the war in 2006 and 2007, visiting close to 20 military camps on each trip, and shaking hands and taking photos with nearly 40,000 troops.
Back then, Chuck was made an Honorary Marine by then Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Conway — an honor he was proud of until he left this earth.
Carrying the Torch for Health and Liberty
Chuck’s mission was always to help others become their strongest selves — physically, mentally, and spiritually.
He believed that treating your body right and working to be healthy and resilient was the best way to honor the liberty these heroes died to protect.
In that spirit of strength and readiness…
This was Chuck’s favorite way to start his day because Morning Kick is specifically designed to boost energy, improve digestion, support strong joints & muscles, and help you maintain a healthy weight.

With love and for his legacy,
