For decades, the Land Rover has been synonymous with the British Armed Forces, from RAF Series I 80-inch trucks in the 1950s to the legendary Defender Wolfs of the 1990s and 2000s. With those legacy workhorses facing their scheduled retirement in the next few years, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has opened the competition for a successor fleet. In response, Jaguar Land Rover has formally entered the ring with the Defender Wolf Series II -- a modern Defender adapted for the contemporary battlespace.

For as long as most of us can remember, checking the annual JD Power reliability survey results has felt like a predictable exercise in self-deprecation. Now, the automotive landscape has witnessed a huge shift: Land Rover has officially climbed to 10th place overall in the latest J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study.
