Inside the amazing minds of young artists

The Young Artists' Summer Show is now open. The exhibition's 526 artworks, by artists aged 4 – 18 years old, are testament to the ingenuity and talent of young artists from across the UK.

Hear some of the artists’ stories behind the 195 works currently on display in the Weston Studio, from family portrait doodles and papier mâché dogs to a painting of hats inspired by Van Gogh’s Chair.

Visit the Young Artists' Summer Show 2026 for free in the Weston Studio until 30 August 2026 or access the exhibition online.

Friday-night lates with guest DJs

For two more special Friday nights this summer (24 and 31 July), the Royal Academy will feel a little extra joyful. In a new series of lates as part of the Summer Exhibition, we've invited guest DJs to help us celebrate great art with great music.

Free for Friends and Summer Exhibition ticket holders. Do book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Inspire your young artists

Created in collaboration with RA Schools artist Dominic Myatt, this exclusive collection is inspired by the art and architecture of the Royal Academy.

The range is full of creative essentials: sketchbooks, art aprons, pencil cases, tote bags, magnets and more. Each piece is made in the UK and designed to encourage children to imagine, explore and create.

Mark the year with a YASS calendar

Our 2027 mini calendar features a few of our favourite artworks from last year’s Young Artists’ Summer Show.

Perfect for brightening your workspace, the calendar showcases inspiring pieces made by talented students aged 4 – 18 from across the UK.
