It’s time to get serious about nature in our neighbourhoods
Developers have a responsibility to give back to nature
At a time when so many lack access to nature near their homes, the UK Government needs to fix the scheme that could turn things around - not strip it back.

Take action

Hello -
Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is designed to ensure new developments leave places greener, helping bring nature back into our communities through local restoration, funding and improvement.
However, most housing developments have so far avoided taking part in BNG, either through exemptions or by relying on loopholes - resulting in less nature in your neighbourhood.
|
Now, it’s back under review.
Instead of fixing the problems and immediately closing the loopholes, the UK Government is proposing new exemptions, weakening the system when it should be strengthening it.
|
|
Speak up for nature.
Tell the Government to strengthen BNG, not weaken it.
