Patterns of persecution: 10-year report on bird of prey killing
It’s illegal to kill or injure birds of prey in the UK. Yet, raptor persecution is one of the major threats to the recovery of some of our most precious species.
Our latest report, Patterns of persecution, uncovers some shocking statistics on bird of prey crime from the past 10 years. 48% of confirmed incidents in England took place across just seven counties, with over half associated with land managed for gamebird shooting. To prevent these crimes and protect birds of prey, we're urgently calling on the UK Government to introduce gamebird licensing in England.
