For decades I've run my business with one very simple rule.
I call it the coffee shop filter.
The filter is simple--and liberating.
"Can I run this business from a coffee shop?".
If yes? Then I roll with it.
If not? Then I say no.
The business must be lean, agile with zero bloat.
I want what I want and make zero apologies for it.
I don't need to "scale" my business to $100 million nor do I need bragging rights of "I have a team of 75 people!".
At 53--that holds zero desire.
Freedom is the one and only goal.
And for the past 27+ years--the mechanics powering my "coffee shop" lifestyle businesses hasn't changed.
95% of my income comes from simply writing ONE EMAIL A DAY.
"But Ryan, isn't email dead?".
Ummm... no. Not even close.
For example, how many times have you checked your email the past 24 hours? I bet it's more than zero, isn't it?
I've run the "one email a day" system in every market and business model imaginable...
From a sports training membership sites and 3 different nutrition companies to fitness software, entrepreneurial coaching and now.. and 80s entertainment company.
Build list. Send email.
THAT'S the business wrapped up in 4 tidy words.
Once they are on your list--you can feature different offers.
You can create your own or recommend others.
One of my best student's now does over $19 million a year as an affiliate with email.
With my new business, I now have 13,900 email subscribers in the first 8 weeks and haven't spent a single penny on traffic.
Not one ad. Not one funnel.
It's 100% organic and 100% profit.
Marketers do a good job of making things seem waaay more complex than they are.
But at the end of the day, you can have a really good lifestyle business following my model of one good email a day.
Each subscriber can be worth from $1 up to $20 per month.
The numbers add up quickly.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have an 80s email to write and my coffee is getting cold.
