Today, we'd like to introduce you to Berta from our Product Development team. We sat down with her to chat about her own hair routine, the products she can't live without, and some of the lessons she's picked up along the way.

What's been your proudest moment at SBL so far?

Many things! But from a product perspective, I feel really proud when I can help make the science behind our products actually click for my colleagues and, eventually, our customers. There’s so much research behind ingredients like Capilia Longa® and HotFlux®, and my favourite part is making that feel as exciting to others as it is to me.

Which SBL product would you take to a desert island?

The Hair Mask, without question. I’m originally from a small town on the Mediterranean coast, so I have plenty of experience with the whole sun, sea, and salty-hair situation. And believe me, after a long beach day with dry, tangled hair, there’s no better feeling than applying our mask, letting it work its magic, and feeling your hair come back to life.

Which 3 SBL products do you actually use yourself — and what does each one do for you?

Since joining SBL, I’ve become a loyal customer too. Every morning when I get to the office, the first thing I do is take my Hair Nutrient tablet for my daily shot of vitamins and minerals. In the evenings, I wash my hair with the Bio-Pilixin Shampoo, and before bed I apply the Eyelash Serum. I really enjoy having this routine to take care of myself – but I have to admit, seeing my eyelashes become stronger is a pretty good incentive.

What's the best hair tip you would give your younger self?

Stop using cheap supermarket products on your hair. What seems like a bargain today can end up costing you in the long run, with a scalp overloaded with silicones and ingredients that don’t do your hair and scalp any favors.

Hair up or hair down?

Hair down, always. You’ll rarely see me with a tight hairstyle. That’s why it’s so important for me to use gentle products that I can use every day without leaving my hair heavy or full of residue, while still keeping it shiny, voluminous, and of course, stylish ;)

Your worst hair moment ever?

A few months ago, I went to the hairdresser for what was supposed to be a simple trim. As usual, I got a little too brave, and I ended up with hair that was way shorter than I wanted. I genuinely felt like I was having an identity crisis. I threw myself into the full routine - Hair Nutrient Tablets, scalp massage with Dermaroller, Bio-Pilixin serum, shampoo, conditioner, everything. I don’t think I’ve ever been so dedicated to my hair. The good news? A month later, everything was back to normal.
