Having been in professional services my whole career, I would confidently and quickly select my work outfit, or going out to dinner outfit, or running to an event at the kids’ school outfit. Then, like a dark cloud (with a dash of feet self-loathing), I would stand in front of my shoe rack….
Full of shoes, many ridiculously overpriced, luxury brands, most barely worn once, I would debate with myself. What could I possibly tolerate? Of course, I often grabbed a second pair of flats, often equally as unsupportive and really not that much more comfortable but tolerable, to make it through the day. I also struggled with color. Why can no one make a simple, navy pair of heels?
