I am so sorry I dropped off the face of the earth for two weekends!! I had my Spring/Summer Catalog due for next year, sample requests to get in by a very tight deadline (still hoping I’ll make it!) and I flew up to Seattle pretty last minute last week to meet with Nordstrom! They’ve been selling Seaesta for a few years but we have new buyers and are hoping to keep growing with them. Fingers crossed!

I’m sure you’re all in the thick of May-cember like us! My son aged out of Little League this weekend, which is a huge milestone for anyone in the kids baseball world! Now its just travel ball for him, which just isn’t the same vibe. But along with this, we’ve had one million celebrations, tournaments, and then there’s teacher appreciation week gifts (WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS) and end of year projects and parties… AND THEN ITS SUMMER. What are we even doing this summer? I haven’t had a second to plan. Kudos to any of you who’ve booked camps and planned trips already.

Every year I get DMs asking if we’ll be having a Memorial Weekend sale. We only do two site-wide sales a year (Black Friday + First Week of Summer). This helps support our local retailers so we don’t undercut them on pricing (please shop local/small!!) and it also helps us maintain the value of our product. We price our goods fairly based on cost of goods and cost to run the business so marking things down often is not easy for us. We also don’t do Memorial Weekend markdowns because I personally want to ensure we are respectful of the solemnity of that holiday. Even though it is the unofficial kick-off to summer, it is also a day to honor military personnel who died. As someone from a military family, in a military town, I just don’t personally feel good celebrating the weekend with a sale.

So that’s the long answer for anyone who may have wondered!

What I’m Cooking

• Ever need to use up a bag of arugula? This spring pasta with arugula pesto looks perf!

• Crispy black bean tacos look delish (I’ve mentioned it before but I love to make my own black beans and use them for a few things in a week!)

• We got some shishito peppers at the farmer’s market last weekend and cooked them in our cast iron. We did them with olive oil and coarse salt but next time we are going to top with chili crunch!

• For when its hot again: crispy tofu cucumber salad - am I crazy or do I think my kids might eat this?? They love a cucumber salad and rice.

• This V-Neck tee is such nice quality so it looks nice with jeans but I’ve also worn it with leggings!

• I got these slacks for my husband and they fit so nicely. Its so hard to find nice-fitting pants for slim guys!
