Ben Sheppee presents Morphemes

His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including Tate Britain, the ICA, and SFMOMA, while his large-scale installations and projection works have established him as a distinctive voice at the intersection of art, technology, and cultural research. Following a recent presentation at Ambika P3 in London, Morphemes makes its debut as a collectible limited edition designed specifically for screens.

Drawing on more than 300 writing systems from across the world, Morphemes deconstructs alphabets into their smallest meaningful units and reanimates them as living typographic organisms. Characters drift, collide, and reform within a generative fluid simulation, creating an ever-evolving visual ecosystem where languages that appear unrelated begin to reveal a shared underlying structure.

Accompanied by a soundtrack composed by London-based artist and researcher Matthias Kispert, the work transforms typography into a meditation on migration, cultural exchange, and the continual evolution of human communication. In Morphemes, language itself becomes fluid — shaped not by permanence, but by movement, encounter, and transformation.
