CLAUDE (Soon Cho) presents Metaform, the third chapter in his ongoing Nature-Form series, exploring the fundamental structures of nature through monumental digital sculpture. The Seoul-based new media artist has developed a distinctive practice at the intersection of nature, data, and technology, with works presented internationally at MUTEK, SAT Montreal, ARTECHOUSE, Times Square, the Melbourne International Film Festival, ISEA, and Asia Culture Center. CLAUDE has also contributed to major projects with Anyma’s Sphere residency, the National Museum of Korea, Samsung, and Korea Exchange, establishing a visual language that transforms natural phenomena into experiences of awe, tension, and vitality.

Following Organic Form, which translated natural data into digital sculpture, and Protoform, which explored cells and organic movement as foundations of life, Metaform turns towards the geometric structures hidden throughout nature. Beginning with the idea that nature’s most immense forms emerge from remarkably simple elements, CLAUDE draws attention to the fundamental patterns and structures that often disappear within the scale and complexity of the natural world.

Millions of digital particles gather, disperse, and reorganise into vast geometric formations. Individually minimal, their accumulation creates an extraordinary sense of scale and organic vitality, allowing precise digital structures to feel simultaneously mathematical and alive. Familiar patterns emerge before dissolving again, moving between order and instability, abstraction and recognition.

Through Metaform, CLAUDE invites viewers to rediscover the complexity hidden within nature’s simplest structures, creating a digital experience where familiarity and the unknown coexist, and where millions of individual elements become something monumental.
