Welcome to Scandifornia
A memory, a dream, a life lived between two coasts.
I took my first trip to California when I was sixteen. My parents let me fly out to visit David in Lake Tahoe over spring break. Seven years older than me, he had moved west after college to chase snow and sun. We skied. We hiked. We woke up at 4am to spend a day in San Francisco.
Years later, I moved there myself. I drove Route 1 with friends. Spent winter weekends on the slopes in Tahoe. Took coastal hikes in the headlands. Biked hills through a foggy city. The ocean breeze and sun-warmed skin became constants.
Love would take me to Sweden, then back, then eventually to Sweden again.
And through all of it, there was always water. Always a wild coast. Always that feeling of standing at the edge of something.
Scandifornia is the scent of two worlds: where California and Sweden collide. Choppy waters, soft herbs, salt air, and the memory of everywhere that made you.
The water is cold. Jump in anyway.
