St. Pölten, Austria
Austria's biggest Spartan weekend returned to St. Pölten with almost 6,000 athletes from 32 countries taking on a scorching-hot Trifecta weekend that tested endurance, grit, and resilience. The course wound through some of the city's most iconic landmarks , from Rathausplatz and Kaiserwald to the muddy former military grounds of Völtendorf, delivering a race experience that combined urban terrain with classic Spartan punishment. The weekend also featured a record-breaking Spartan Kids race with more than 1,000 young Spartans, making it the largest Kids event in Europe, alongside a 12-hour Hurricane Heat and the debut of the Military Trophy, where more than 300 soldiers competed in four-person teams. The Germany-Austria National Series delivered one of the most dramatic finishes of the season as Roman Tóth capitalized on a missed spear throw from race leader Matteo Pelizza to steal victory in the Super, while Olivia Leitmeir dominated the women's race from start to finish.
Cheile Grădiștei, Romania
Set within one of Romania's premier mountain sports resorts, Spartan Cheile Grădiștei delivered a weekend of rugged racing surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery. More than 1,500 adults tackled the demanding mountain courses under intense summer heat , climbing steep terrain and navigating technical trails throughout the resort. While not part of a national series, the competition remained fierce, highlighted by Slovakia's Adam Chren capturing the Elite Beast title. Romanian athletes defended home soil across the Sprint and Super races, giving local fans plenty to cheer for throughout the weekend. Combined with the spectacular setting and challenging elevation, Cheile Grădiștei once again proved why it remains one of Eastern Europe's most memorable Spartan destinations.
Whitewater, Wisconsin
Trail runners headed deep into nature for the Whitewater Trail Challenge, where competitors took on distances ranging from 10K and Half Marathon to the demanding 50K ultra. Featuring rugged trails, challenging elevation, and stunning scenery, the event rewarded both speed and endurance while offering athletes an opportunity to disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with the outdoors. Whether chasing a podium finish or simply conquering a new distance, runners embraced the challenge and showcased the perseverance that defines the Spartan Trail community.
