Summer to Stand Up

MLB All-Star Game

This one moment, this one photo, says it all. It is both heartbreaking and uplifting – and is an example of how extraordinarily powerful your support can be. It's a reminder that we all have a reason to stand up and that behind every placard is a story.

Thousands of fans at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Major League Baseball players, and people around the country stood up this month during the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard to honor loved ones impacted by cancer. Now is the time to support Stand Up To Cancer as we continue to fund groundbreaking cancer research to detect and treat cancers, with the aspiration to cure all patients.

Let's Bring an End to Pediatric Cancer

Stand Up To Cancer and Beast Philanthropy, with support from presenting sponsor, Amgen, and St. Baldrick's Childhood Cancer Research Foundation, have joined forces to create a new SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team.

1 in 5 children who are diagnosed with cancer will lose their lives to it. With your gift today, you can help support SU2C, this new Dream Team, and our work to raise awareness and fund cancer research focused on finding cures for kids with cancer.

INSPIRATIONAL STORY

Kelly

In 2006, Kelly was a 19-year-old college student when she learned she had malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) of the head and neck, a rare soft tissue sarcoma that originates from the largest cranial nerve in the brain. Having to endure grueling cancer treatments during such a pivotal period in her life, Kelly struggled.

To help her through the toughest days, Kelly kept a journal. “I wrote about my fears, pain, and glimmers of hope,” she describes. “Being able to look back and see what I had already endured encouraged me to keep going. Nearly 20 years later, re-reading that journal still grounds me. It’s a powerful reality check.”
