My family understands the heartbreaking impact a cancer diagnosis can have all too well. My brother received a cancer diagnosis and tragically passed just 2 weeks later. A few months later, my mom was diagnosed — thankfully, she has since recovered. Genetic testing then revealed that I have a syndrome that can increase the risk of many types of cancer. Because of this, I started getting annual screenings.

Eight years later, while undergoing a regular screening, my doctors found a large tumor. I feared the worst. But then everything changed: I qualified for an SU2C-funded clinical trial that saved my life.
