I truly believe this study saved my life. – Mary, cancer survivor

Dear Friend,

For Mary, it started with what felt like a lump on her knee. Over the next five years, she searched for answers and consulted specialists. After electing to pursue surgery to remove what doctors assured her was just a “lump under the skin,” Mary was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma.

Mary’s doctor recommended she enroll in a clinical trial run by an SU2C research team using immunotherapy in combination with radiation. Joining the trial was not an easy decision for her to make because she worried she would have to quit her job. But she chose to move forward, knowing her decision could make a difference for others facing similar diagnoses.

And today? Mary is cancer-free and thriving, and she credits SU2C- funded cancer research with making that possible.

If people are offered a clinical study, I hope they agree to be in it because it does offer hope. —Mary, cancer survivor

Breakthroughs such as the SU2C-funded clinical trial that Mary participated in are expanding the possibilities of cancer research. Stories like hers happen because of a community — including supporters like you — that believes in the power of research.
