Don Mattingly's trip to the bigs included a few stops in the Minor Leagues. The bright lights of New York would eventually shine for the superstar slugger but it took a little seasoning before Donnie Baseball earned his pinstripes. Up for auction is his Game Worn "Rawlings size 42" road jersey worn from when Mattingly was an upstart with the Columbus Clippers in 1982. "Columbus" is executed across the chest in two-color tackle twill and "19" is fitted on the reverse. Each of the identifiers shows good overall use. The tail includes a Rawlings label and "Set 1 1981" flag tag. Navy/white/navy ribbed material surrounds the sleeve ends - much like the parent club's design. There are very few examples of Don Mattingly game worn minor league jersey's.
